As I got to make more personal connections, I also got to think more about empathy. All drug users need empathy and support from others to break out of their addiction and so I decided to talk about empathy. I chose the picture above to symbolize empathy, as it has various similarities. To empathize a person, one must start to view others from their perspectives. Glasses symbolizes perspectives, as one uses glasses to see things more clearly. I personally don't have any experience with drugs, so I won't be able to see in their perspectives easily. However, by doing my investigation on drugs, I will be able to build a great deal of knowledge about drugs and so I will educate others or even provide facts to addicts. Another characteristics of glasses is that it helps one's eyesight. By being empathetic, we are also supporting people much like glasses support eyesight. Support and motivation from others is an essential factor when it comes to stopping drug use, and so glasses illustrate what I think is true empathy.
